Release 2009

Then it finally happened, in a blaze af sound and feedback we released our mini-album ”All tomorrow’s garden”. It took place at Fairbar here in our lovely hometown (Aarhus) and the turnout was great. There was free beer and free everything, except for the cds and vinyl records – they still cost money, albeit not a lot.

We have now begun the laborious task of mailing press material and cds to critics, booking agents, management boys and girls – you name it – and thus we hope to generate some cosmic buzz about our kraut-popping songs and then, hopefully, in the future we will be able to tour a little more than what has been the case so far. Live and loud is the way to go…

And don’t forget – cds and vinyls can be purchased at our homepage www.sgsm.dk as well as at www.myspace.com/silvergleamingsoundmachine

Meeting the indies

Silver Gleaming Sound Machine was chosen by Bandbase, together with four other upcomming bands, to present our new SGSM Mini Album ”All tomorrow’s gardens” to Danske Uafhængige Pladeselskaber / Danish Independent Music Labels (DUP) at this year’s SPOT festival.

Bandbase and DUP are working together on a project during SPOT 2009 in Aarhus, Denmark that focuses on helping upcomming bands taking it a step further.

We are meeting with DUP on the 23rd of May, at ”the DUP tent” at SPOT – where the panel will get a chance to talk, think, hear and smell real Krautpop…

The panel consists of:

Nikolaj Nørlund (Auditorium)
Jesper “Yebo” Reginal (Crunchy Frog)
Søren Krogh (Playground Music)
Nicolaj Hyltén-Cavellius (Artiscope Music)

Coordinator: Rasmus Ardahl, BandBase

If you have any good ideas on how or what to present (besides songs and good looks) next Saturday – please feel free to comment..

Right now we are considering doing some guerilla-marketing during the festival – e.g. sitting in front of the entrance selling our beautiful Mini-Vinyl-Record – drinking the leftover beers that security confiscates from the young and trendy..

Mini Album – “all tomorrow’s gardens” for sale

We have received our Mini Album: “All tomorrow’s gardens” and they are all piled up in a two-bedroom apartment here in Aarhus. In a week we will be selling the record when we are having our music video release party at Øst for Paradis… and also at our album release party on the 29th of May 2009 at Fairbar.

If you are not able to join us in celebrating our newborn it will also be possible to buy it through our website and in selected record stores in Denmark.

One should try and listen to..

Just a little reminder to everyone of how great an album Cabaret Voltaire’s “Micro-Phonies” was and is! I feel fairly convinced that the glorious Drumtraks is also featured on this album (nothing quite like that bass drum), as it is on almost every SGSM song :)
